Lanark Utd 2-1 Carluke Rovers

Posted by Yowe6 on September 16, 2017 at 1:55 PM

What a difference a week makes. Well deserved 2-1 victory today against our local rivals Carluke to hand them their first league defeat of the season.

We should have won by a lot more. Two excellent goals by Ronan Kearney, one a beautiful free kick into the top corner.

Wouldn't be Lanark without giving us a fright. Another sloppy goal conceded - in the 93rd minute. Managed to hold out for a further 3 minutes to secure the win.

Totally agree BC. Much more encouraging stuff today and the pitch definitely is a credit to the groundsman.

Excellent win today. We should have scored at least 5. Shaun Gallagher managed to hit the bar from two yards in front of a completely open goal! We had a one on one with their keeper in the last couple of minutes to make it 3 nil, instead we lost another incredibly sloppy goal on 93rd minute to make life much tougher than it needed to be.
Two excellent goals by Ronan. 3 trialists made a big difference, although their lack of game time showed in the 2nd half.
Disappointed that Gareth Halford was not on the bench, at least.
Much happier and more confident after today.
Geordie had the pitch in magnificent shape today.
