A great win for Lanark away to Newmains who had showed good form this season already in their League Cup section.

Lanark sit top of the league early on, six scored and none conceded.

Delighted to get another good win today and another 3 points on the board. Newmains have picked up wins against strong opposition this year so it can't be underestimated.

Again today, we could and should have maybe scored more goals but it's really pleasing to be playing the way we are and creating so many chances in our games.

Great start for Alan Christie at the club, scoring on his debut and showing the directness to his play from a wide area. Lee Imrie was excellent in the middle of the park breaking up so much of Newmains play and getting forward to support our attacks. Defensively, 0 goals conceded in the league thus far, long may that continue.

It may sound like a broken record but from our point of view there is a massive difference in the strength in depth of the squad this year and the team unity. Today we had McCrum and Cherrie not playing through suspension and injury respectively and Paul Ross still recovering from his knee injury, but the players who started and played as subs all contributed.

It's a great feeling on a Saturday leaving with a victory, for players, coaches, committee and fans and hopefully we have many good Saturdays to enjoy this feeling ahead of us.
