Committee Decision

Posted by Brian on September 22, 2014 at 12:45 AM

Just to make everyone aware that the committee have accepted our offer to resign.

It's been an absolute privilege to have been the Manager of Lanark United Football Club and thanks to the committee for giving me this opportunity.

For whatever reason, it's just not worked out this season, even with an excellent squad of players who certainly cannot be faulted for their hard work. Not taking our chances and losing sloppy goals are two of the main reasons why we are sitting with zero points from four league games but that's football. We have continued to try to play the game the right way and hopefully everyone watching has at least enjoyed that but it's a result driven business and we've just not been able to turn good performances into 3pts.

Would personally like to give a mention to John and Middy for their enormous efforts, top guys who deserved a better outcome. At the same time it's been a great learning for all three of us and i hope we'll be back together in the dug out and some point in the future.

I wish the club much success going forward and I am sure with the current squad we are only one win away from turing the corner. No better time than next Saturday with it being the Scottish Cup. All the very best to everyone associated with the club, Mon the Yowes!

Cheers

Brian

Cheers Stevie. Trust my feedback taken in the spirit with which it is meant. If we don't communicate then the disinterest will get worse. Communication may stimulate some interest in the club.

Brian .. Regarding your post about no statement from club iam the only person on the committee that has a login to the website. As you no it's been a busy few days at the club . Your point will taken on board I will pass on details to the new manager and his coaching team regarding statements. As I have stated in previous posts the club would like to thank the previous manager and his coaches for there efforts and wish them all the best . Time to move on Lanark united as a club has been here a long time everyone involved at the club committee ,players, and most important supporters have to get behind the new management team and support the yowes over the next few weeks.

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS

You've always put the team out to play the right way so have to be commended for that, when the team played well they were a joy to watch. I'm sure you've all learned a lot from it.

All the very best to you John and Middy, hopefully you get another crack at it somewhere else if this wasn't enough to put you off! Any plans to play again, or have the boots been hung up for good?

No announcement from the Club about the departure of the Manager and his team nor the arrival of their replacements.
My plea is that we do not revert to the previous poor levels of communication which prevailed prior to Brian taking over as Manager. I am happy to do the posting if someone will give me regular briefings.

I am sorry to read this Brian. One does not know what goes on behind closed doors but, I still maintain that if we stick together and keep working hard the results will come.
Thank you fans your team for all your efforts on and off the field. Communication between the club and the loyal few has never been better which I would ask the Committee to keep in mind, moving forward.
Best wishes to the three of you for the future.
