2 points dropped against the league leaders but, ultimately we were happy to get the point with a scrambled equaliser by Peter O'Donnell in the 93rd minute which should have been ruled offside during the build up play.
2 weeks in a row we have equalised so late which is a trait to be happy with. However, we keep gifting team's goals.
They opened the scoring early on due to a daft handball by Stuart Annetts. We equalised through a well struck first half penalty by Shaun Gallagher after Ronan Kearney was taken down in the box whilst bearing down on goal. Jack Stubbs put us 2-1 when he lashed the ball in for his first goal for Lanark following a corner in the 2nd half. We then lost 2 goals in quick succession late in the 2nd half. Their 2nd was well offside and then our keeper, who had played well to be fair, had a howler coming for a cross he got nowhere near allowing their striker to head in.
The team played well in patches today. Lanark are definitely progressing under Paul and Craig from where they were at the start of the season. Word is that training has improved dramatically, which is good to hear.
The return of Cameron Lawson is a boon. The young lad Scott Schoneville has been excellent, despite getting 2 yellows today.
Peter O'Donnell is kicking on from last season. Had some good guys on the bench today. Still think we are a bit suspect at the back.
Great to see Shug make another cameo appearance today. Big Shaun Gallagher getting fitter. He has a great touch and smashed in his penalty today against a big keeper. Young Ronan Kearney is a player although guilty today of shooting when his fellow striker was in a better position for a square ball. Hopefully he will learn. Sean McKenna getting back to fitness. He has been a loss in the past few games.
Not as despondent as I was. With most teams being able to beat the other on their day this division has lots of twists and turns ahead.
