A 2-0 home win for Lanark in blustery conditions.
Lanark had much the better of the first half play and went ahead after around 20 minutes when John Renwick fired in from outside the box, the ball curled away from the visiting keeper into the far top corner.
Lanark were awarded a penalty shortly after following a rush of blood from the keeper, chopping down Ryan Connolly inside the box, Danny Burns spurned his chance though, firing it over the bar.
New arrival Kris Jarvie playing his second game for Lanark put the Yowes two ahead before half time, knocking the ball past the onrushing keeper and it crept just inside the post.
Lanark played into the wind in the second half as Perthsire came into it slightly more, Lanark remained solid though and saw their two goal lead out for the rest of the game for a vital 3 points.

A draw for Lanark that will feel like a defeat.
Went ahead early on through the number 6 (name anyone?), finishing within the six yard box.
Main talking point of the match came shortly afterwards, Lanark player clean through on goal, the onrushing Shettleston goalkeeper made the save with his hands outside the eighteen yard box from a goalbound shot. Lanark were left dismayed when the referee awarded a free kick, but only a yellow card for the keeper. The most obvious sending off you will ever see and a totally unjustifiable decision from the referee to only show yellow.
Shettleston had a player ordered off for lashing out at Con Boyle midway through the second half, the yellow cards were being thrown about like confetti by the official and John Renwick saw red after two yellow cards to level the sides.
Shortly after this Shettleston levelled from a well taken free kick which found the far bottom corner. Goalkeeper seemed slow to react, perhaps unsighted by the large wall.
Both sides went for three points in an entertaining finish to the game but it was to finish all square.
Don't normally single out officials for their performance but you have to wonder what they're thinking sometimes...

A great win for Lanark against premier league side Arthurlie in the second round of the central league cup.
Two goals either side of half time did the damage, the first was a tap in from Danny Burns, following up on a strike which the keeper had saved, the second was a thumping finish, again from Danny Burns from the left hand side of the penalty area, flashing past the keeper.
After half time Lanark went 3-0 up after a scrappy goal which came from a poor kick out from the keeper which rebounded off a player and rolled into the net, this was followed quickly by a good breakaway goal from Graeme Goodall, he was in behind the defence with a clear run at goal, snubbing the man up in support he finished well to wrap up the scoring at 4-0.

Good away win for Lanark against the league leaders.
Some good chances in the first half notably for Ryan up front, before Dunipace were reduced to ten men, a second booking for an off the ball incident.
Took the lead in the second half, a looping header from Liam Mushet.
Scored a second later in the half, good work in the middle from Ryan Conolly who done well to hold off his marker, turn him and play in Con Boyle who got into the box and squared it to Danny Burns to put it home.
Good performances from everyone who played, kept Dunipace at arms length for the entire game and could have had more, all worked hard until the very end.

Lanark go on to the next round after a game that won't live long in the memory.
Forth took the lead early on with a close range strike.
Lanark managed to play some good stuff, poor final ball meant that it remained 1-0 to Forth at half time though.
Lanark took the lead in the second half after being awarded a dubious penalty, Danny Burns got into the box and was brought down by the Forth defender when the ball appeared to be going out of play after bouncing around between the pair. Jack Marriott stepped up and thumped the ball home, exactly how a penalty should be taken.
Penalties were to decide the game in the end. Jack tucked his away, as did the Forth player, Middy was foiled by the Forth Keeper and the next taker for Forth missed via the post, two further penalties for Lanark from Liam Mushett and Brian Johnson won the game when Forth's number 5 missed high and wide.
Lanark through to the next round with positives to take, namely the return of Gary Gow and good performances from young John on the right and also Grant at right back, both making their first starts.

A great win for Lanark in a difficult game. Danny Burns at the double.
Fairly even first half, John Renwick winning a penalty after being pulled down in the box. Danny Burns put it away for 1-0 at half time.
Dunipace replied in the second half with an excellent free kick from their number four.
Winning goal came shortly after, Danny Burns firing underneath the keeper. Danny had the chance to extend the lead and complete his second hat-trick in two games when Lanark won a penalty. Alan McCrum raced free of the defence and was chopped down when clean through around 10 yards from goal. Referee inexpclicibly didn't send off the Dunipace defender despite being the last man. Penalty was well held by the Dunipace keeper.
Lanark held on though for an invaluable three points in the race for promotion.

A good three points for Lanark in a game they nearly let slip from their grasp.
Lanark raced into a 3-0 lead after just 15 minutes, all three goals coming courtesy of Danny Burns, his second where he rounded the goalkeeper before slotting home being the pick of the bunch.
East Kilbride got one goal back before half time and almost straight from the restart after half time, pulled another one back. There was to be no further scoring though in a game which Lanark should really have had out of sight in the first half.
Still, a good three points. East Kilbride ran Lanark close and are bound to take their first points off somebody this year, lets just hope its off one of the clubs around us in third place.
Should also mention that this game marked a very welcome return to Lanark for striker Stuart Tullis who has joined from Kilsyth.

Lanark picked up another good league win this afternoon in Larkhall.
Lanark opened the scoring after fourteen minutes, Jack Marriott with a well taken goal after a fine cross into the box by Brian Johnston.
Two further goals were exchanged before the interval, a header from a tight angle which should have been defended better by Lanark got Larkhall level before Brian Johnston done well to put Lanark back in the lead.
Lanark had a good chance straight from the restart, Danny Burns' shot was well saved by the on-rushing keeper. Lanark increased their lead to two goals after a great ball in from the left was diverted into the net by the head of a Larkhall defender who was being pressured by Johnston.
The two goal gap didn't last long however and Larkhall halved the deficit and were looking dangerous. Lanark restored their two goal lead from the penalty spot, Brian Johnston turned the defender and was brought to ground, Jack Marriott finished the job.
Larkhall got one back, ensuring a nervy last ten minutes for Lanark. Larkhall were reduced to ten men late on when the left back was booked for a second time for dissent, leaving Larkhall's number 8 having an amusing, full blown meltdown in the middle of the park during the stoppage. Lanark survived scares from two late corners, Daniel Tobin making an excellent diving save. A good three points on the road continues the good start to 2013.
